Now a proud Division of Ursuline Senior Services

Welcome to the Good Grief Center for Bereavement Support (GGC), a nonprofit charitable organization. We provide compassionate support services and resources to individuals of all ages coping with the death of someone important in their life, including a companion animal. Located in Western Pennsylvania, GGC offers support to any part of the English-speaking world over the phone by locally calling 412-224-4700 or toll free 1-888-474-3388, as well as through our website.

Each of us will experience grief at some time in our lives - most likely, multiple times. While it is a universal experience, it is also a unique one. There is no specific process, no healing formula, no right way to manage grief. However, there are healthy, more effective ways to cope.

At the Good Grief Center, we are dedicated to assisting people through these especially difficult times. Our compassionate and confidential bereavement support services are free of charge. Emotional peer support is at the heart of those services. Staff and volunteers are directly available either by phone or in person during regular business hours to provide emotional support and grief education. Appointments and walk-ins are welcomed at 2717 Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.

For those who have been touched by a death, or know someone who has experienced grief, please take a moment to help support our free of charge services by making a tax deductible donation. Every donation, large or small, helps us maintain these support services to those in need free of charge.

Our mission:

To be a comprehensive bereavement resource and referral center that builds a more compassionate community through grief awareness, education, support and hope; creating a safe place where all who have experienced the pain of death may come to work through loss and learn to manage grief.
