What a great evening!
The Good Grief Center for Bereavement Support celebrated its
5th Anniversary on Thursday, September 21st with a fundraiser at
the Andy Warhol
Museum. The event featured a silent auction with over 50 frames
decorated by local and national celebrities and over 50-matted photographs
from local
and national photographers, including several Pulitzer Prize winners.
Guests grooved to Dr. Vinnie Vegas, dined on fine appetizers and
sipped martha-tinis
in honor of Martha Perry, retiring Associate Executive Director
of the McCune Foundation.

With in-kind donations totaling more than $35,000, free local
media worth $38,000, and a net-profit of more than $69,000,
the event was a success with more than 400 attendees, including
politicos,
on a busy Thursday night.
Anniversaries are a time to celebrate the past and look to
the future. We are proud to be the region's only comprehensive
bereavement support center. Without a doubt, it has been
an honor and a privilege to have supported over 8,000 people. While
this celebration reflected
on lives touched
in those five years, it also paves the way for this much
needed
work to continue.

to another 5 years.
